I am here to help you return to wholeness, expand, grow, and discover or rediscover your true self.

Life can feel heavy and hard sometimes. Maybe you’ve had dark times. Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, the effects of trauma, or difficulty with relationships, and there’s a small voice inside you saying, “I’m so tired of feeling this way.”

We start by working together to clearly understand your present challenges. Together we uncover the beliefs, patterns, and past events that shape your experience. In doing so we nurture that extraordinary light that shines within you (it’s always been there and it’s there now), bringing you back to your strength, your creativity, your connection with others, and your true voice.

I believe peace and fulfilling connection are possible for you. I see you as vast, powerful, and creative.

Jonna Tamases - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

I hold a space for you that is warm and open, where you are allowed to just BE, and where you can feel safe exploring and expressing whatever has been weighing you down. As I listen to you and HEAR you, I look for the small signals that point toward the deeper truths inside you that are yearning to be known.

I meet teens and adolescents where they are in order to help them learn to identify and express their needs; navigate the big changes and strong feelings as they move toward adulthood; and access their own healing strength.

I also provide EMDR for adults, children, and couples. EMDR can help you process traumatic experiences, “stuck” memories, and ingrained unhelpful patterns. It uses your brain’s natural healing instincts to help you strengthen and reintegrate parts of yourself that have been wounded by painful, overwhelming experiences. I am with you, and I work to make sure you feel safe in this process.

I work to help couples navigate back to better communication, rebuild trust, and increase connection. I use an emotion-focused approach to help partners better understand themselves and each other, considering each partner’s family of origin, life experiences, beliefs, and needs. It is possible to become a team again.

Families are complex relationship networks. I work to give all voices the chance to be heard and to uncover the (perhaps unspoken) dynamics, emotions, and patterns that are present. I help families to strengthen communication and restore peace in the home.

Additionally I work with people who are dealing with medical issues / cancer – diagnosis, treatment, and life after; I work with artists and performers to help manage the challenges of the creative life and tap into their natural creative flow; and I help folks navigate life transitions – college, mid-life, and aging. You don’t have to go it alone.

I use a person-centered, psychodynamic, trauma informed, emotion- and somatic-focused therapeutic framework in which to provide both talk therapy and/or EMDR. I practice compassionate and intuitive listening.

I am a former writer/performer. I’ve experienced depression, anxiety, deep rage, and grief. I’ve had losses, been through cancer, and am a sexual abuse survivor. I fell in love with therapy through my own journey, and I feel honored to help hold open the door for others to come to peace and self-understanding.

The number of visits that are appropriate in your case and the estimated cost for those services depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with me.
